Job Description
We are looking for a Research Associate to join Wood Mackenzie’s LNG Assets Research team. Our team provides industry-leading analysis of LNG assets around the world, with a focus on understanding the commercial factors which drive developments. The role, located in Delhi, is focused on the Global LNG market and is pivotal to the success of the LNG Assets team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering in-depth, high quality asset and market analysis. This will include understanding and updating information on LNG regas developments and LNG supply projects around the world. The role holder will collaborate with the wider gas team to publish written topical reports, update datasets and provide presentations to clients.
Main Responsibilities
You will have responsibility for tracking the development of the Woodmac view, specifically related to LNG asset developments in Europe, Africa, Russia, the Middle East and Asia Pacific. This includes understanding and updating information on LNG regas projects, LNG supply projects, LNG contracts and LNG shipping.
You will need to be capable of operating autonomously but you will also require strong collaborative skills, as you will work with the regional gas markets and upstream teams on a variety of topics. You will create innovative reports, develop visualizations of our data sets and communicate our views to clients.
You will be a contributor to the update of our global LNG outlook and help develop our views on key LNG market trends. You will become comfortable articulating the supply and demand views and the broader short-term and long-term LNG outlook to clients and prospects. You will also support the creation of datasets for our Global Gas Model product and build scenarios of how the future LNG market will evolve.
Through research trips, client interactions and industry events you will build your network to understand the key topics and challenges in the industry. You will address these in your contribution to our regular deliverables and through development of specific informs, insights and webinars.

Qualifications
The role is ideal for someone who is passionate about the gas and LNG industry and its role in the energy transition and has a desire to be a recognized expert internally and externally. The following qualities would be advantageous for any potential candidate:
A collaborative attitude and a desire to develop or expand gas market knowledge.
An analytical mind, an eye for detail and an ability to translate your analysis into clear coherent messages for customers.
Proficient using analytical tools (such as Excel, Power Query, Python, Power BI, etc) and models and handling large datasets.
Great verbal and written communication skills. Specifically, capable of delivering well written and well-structured reports with compelling arguments derived through cross team collaboration. Experience of developing strong working relationships and good networking and influencing skills.
Planning and organizational skills with the ability to work autonomously and manage your own workload.
Pro-active and the ability to deliver tangible improvements to processes and deliverables.
Productive and driven in achieving your goals.
Deliverables (INTERNAL ONLY)
Writing Woodmac Asset Reports
Requires good writing
Understanding of commercial and legal structures
Economic and cash flow modelling
Maintaining Woodmac LNG databases and building data reports which are easy to refresh out of our data systems
Supporting publication of LNG tool products
Answering client queries on analysis within reports and databases
Researching asset developments via email and calls with clients
Writing In-Brief reports and in-forms on news development
Expectations
We are a hybrid working company and the successful applicant will be expected to be physically present in the office at least 3 days per week to foster and contribute to a collaborative environment
