Project description

Metadata is one of the core business model of Rovi/Tivo/Xperi. Under the footprint of MDS DevOps assist multiple products to more than 20+ customers who can classified as giants among entertainment industries.

In entertainment industry metadata plays significant role from surfing to absorbing the content based on their metadata, in modern world best in class user experience can be served by adequate metadata associated with any content and as a wise man says “content provider is the king” but there is another important aspect associated with any content, if it has appropriate metadata associated it can be classified in desired category to receive maximum viewership or subscriptions.

Metadata have their AI/ML methodologies to organize data for further search (Text/Voice) purposes, as well this will provide cohesive solution to adopt or absorb by UI/UX echo system. Most of the solutions offered by Xperi have Metadata as backbone which cater the content details catalogues and schedule grid to consume contents.

Job purpose:
· Under Metadata team this is a Sr. DevOps position to assist Development and Operation teams, Predominantly DevOps bridges the gap between engineering and operations.

· DevOps engineers build, test and maintain the infrastructure and tools to allow for the speedy development and release of software

· There is significant growth opportunity with stiff learning, DevOps engineer need to be adoptive in terms of learning new tools and technologies to improve deployment as well delivery of software.

· Automation is the key to success for any organization, DevOps is enabler team which assist any organization in this transformation which expedite the delivery. Of solution to market based on TTM.

· This is a special stakeholder management position where collaboration across various teams is essential, with best-in-class communication DevOps can deliver robust solution.

Here’s what you get to do:
· Provide technical leadership to cloud and DevOps operations.

· Deployment, automation, management, and maintenance of AWS cloud-based production system.

· Ensuring availability, performance, security, and scalability of AWS production systems.

· Management of creation, release, and configuration of production systems.

· Perform the installation and high-performance configuration of Apache Tomcat, java based CMS/content management system, Apache, mod rewrite, mod_ssl and mod_jk , PostgreSQL, Oracle, Mongo DB, MS SQL and MySQL Database servers.

· System troubleshooting and problem resolution across various application domains and platforms.

· Provision of critical system security by leveraging best practices and prolific cloud security solutions.

· Providing recommendations for architecture and process improvements.

· Definition and deployment of systems for metrics, logging, and monitoring on AWS platform.

· Troubleshoot problems and log problem reports for recurring issues.

· Review monitoring infrastructure for anomalies

Who we are looking for?
· Strong Hands on experience in AWS DevOps (SVN/GIT) with CI/CD Pipeline

· Familiarity with Jenkins and few other build and release software tools.

· Hands-on experience with EC2, ECS, ELB, EBS, S3, VPC, IAM, Cloud Watch, Storage Gateway.

· Knowledge on ELK/EFK/Splunk for logging and Prometheus, Grafana for monitoring.

· Hands on experience with KAFKA, Elastic Search and RabbitMQ.

· K8S knowledge is one of the essential requirement for this job.

· Creating Network architecture using VPC, subnets and route tables according to the architecture and requirements.

· Creating and configuring ELB / Auto Scaling Group based on the requirements.

· IAM-Restricting the users to their resources only i.e. giving resource level permissions by customizing the IAM policies.

· Designing, deploying and operating highly available, scalable and fault tolerant systems and backup configuration using Amazon Web Services.

· Highly skilled in deployment, data security and troubleshooting of the applications using AWS Services

· Setting Up Amazon SNS Notifications to trigger CloudWatch Events Rule.

· Good knowledge on AWS Cloud Formation create templates and modify existing Stack.

· Knowledge on writing Docker file for Applications

· Good Experience with Kubernetes, AKS.

· Experience working with configuring monitoring tools and provide high SLA for uptime.

· Experience with automation tools such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible will be an added advantage Other Skills.

· Work on Experience with private cloud Nutanix or Openstack etc.

· Good knowledge on infrastructure components such as DNS, DHCP, Active Directory(AD), AD Group Policies, LDAP, LDAP Integration, Exchange, E-Mail Servers such as postfix, sendmail etc.
