General Summary:
‘IT Engineer, Lead (SME) to provide support to Qualcomm Enterprise Search analytics team which focus on delivering world-class Search solutions across Qualcomm, using tools/technologies like Elasticsearch, Solr, Python, Jenkins, Ansible, NoSQL databases – Web technologies and container management (Apache/Tomcat), Docker – AWS Infrastructure (EC2, EBS, Networking, VPC, Security Policies) – RHEL Linux (at an application admin level) – deployment automation scripts, preferably Ansible – Hands-on experience supporting enterprise search systems – Experience working in a DevOps team structure – Knowledge of enterprise systems, their interaction, boundaries within an enterprise.

This individual will be responsible for Installing, deploying, and managing, and supporting our PRD infrastructure that spans on-prem and on AWS. We are a distributed team with members in three geographic locations and this role will interact with members in all regions to define, develop, support processes.

A solid background in system administration of Linux environments is required, along with broad and deep knowledge of compute, server, storage, and networking solutions. This position supports a highly technical engineering community and requires excellent communication skills, both at a very technical level as well as the ability to present to senior management.
Interrupt driven and sometimes urgent tasks are to be expected with this exciting role. You will establish collaborative partnerships with both IT and engineering teams, and balance standard Qualcomm IT solutions with dynamic engineering needs.
‘Min 5+ years of experience supporting: – Elasticsearch, SOLR, Lucidworks, NoSQL databases – Web technologies and container management Docker,(Apache/Tomcat) – AWS Infrastructure (EC2, EBS, Networking, VPC, Security Policies) – RHEL Linux (at an application admin level) – deployment automation scripts, preferably Ansible – Hands-on experience supporting enterprise search systems – Experience working in a DevOps team structure – Knowledge of enterprise systems, their interaction, boundaries within an enterprise.
