Advance Auto Parts Hiring for Data Engineer I at Hyderabad, Telangana Full Time

As a Data Engineer at Advance Auto Parts, you will have an opportunity to disrupt a $100B auto parts industry to bring better and faster solutions to customers. You will be expected to parse, wrangle and transform complex data and build data products to drive actionable insights and help improve our company. You will be part of an elite data analytics function to help the organization live its mission of Advancing a World in Motion.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Build robust systems and reusable code modules to solve problems across the team and organization

with an eye on the long-term maintenance and support of the application

• Partner with other data engineers and other analysts’ groups in advancement of Enterprise data

infrastructure by actively participating and implementing the underlying logic and structure for how data

is set up, cleansed, and ultimately stored for organizational usage

• Develop data subject matter knowledge through active participations in efforts to systematically

evaluate, document and monitor data in a sustained and organizationally recognized way (Data Quality,

Metadata and Privacy)

• Work with the latest open source tools, libraries, platforms and languages to build data products

enabling other analysts to explore and interact with large and complex data sets

• Effectively use dashboards, visualizations, and automation to creatively deliver data analytic insights

from a variety of data sources for business decision support and operations

• Partner with Product Owners and cross functional teams in a collaborative and agile environment
• Mentor other engineers and develop technical knowledge and skills to keep the enterprise on the cutting

edge of technology

REQUIRED SKILLS

• 5+ years’ experience as a Data Engineer or Data Analyst
• 3+ years’ experience with a data engineering programming language (e.g. Python, R, Scala, SQL and/or

SAS)

• 2-3 Years of experince into AWS Cloud
• 3 Years of experience into ETL
• Deep understanding of relational databases and experience with data mining
• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM major (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math)

Desired Skills

• Additional Degree in Data Science or another related field
• Experience with Cloud computing and/or DevOps
