About the Australian Government’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade
The role of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) is to advance the interests of Australia and Australians internationally. This involves strengthening Australia’s security, enhancing Australia’s prosperity, delivering an effective and high-quality overseas aid program and helping Australian travellers and Australians overseas.
The department provides foreign, trade and development policy advice to the Australian Government. DFAT also works with other Australian government agencies to drive coordination of Australia’s pursuit of global, regional, and bilateral interests.
About the Position
Under general supervision of the Transport Officer, this position provides safe, secure and reliable transport for the Australian High Commission, including for the High Commissioner, other members of staff and official visitors as required. This position has responsibility for maintaining the High Commission’s official vehicles in a clean and sound condition.

Employment conditions
Subject to a satisfactory completion of probation period of three months, medical check and background verification, the successful applicant/s will initially be offered an eight month contract.
These roles will operate on a staggered shift basis and will rotate weekly. Shift timings may include: 7am till 3pm, 10am till 6pm, 3pm to 11pm.
The successful applicant/s will be expected to commence duty within one month of being advised of the selection for the position.
