We are part of the Wind Energy & Renewables department, consisting of 200 enthusiastic colleagues working from India, Denmark, Germany, Norway, South Korea and Taiwan, while collaborating closely with colleagues in the United Kingdom and North America. We have a proven history of making wind energy solutions possible even under the most complex conditions – deep waters, challenging soil conditions, and regions with high seismic activity and typhoons/hurricanes. For offshore wind, we design both floating and bottom-fixed structures. Since 1980, we have been involved in more than 1,000 wind power projects in 70 countries.

COWI’s offshore wind energy business is rapidly growing and that is why we are looking for Offshore Structural Engineers to join our team. In this role your key responsibilities will be:

• Designing offshore steel structures in concept and detail, with a focus on offshore wind.

• Preparing optimized foundation design, analytical models, computations, reports, specifications, etc.

• Verifying that other engineers’ design calculations, 3D models, and drawings adhere to COWI QA/QC guidelines.

• Contributing to the conceptual design process and creating engineering designs and details in compliance with project specifications.

• Creating design processes and advancing knowledge transfer.

• Managing a group of project engineers and inspiring them to complete the project successfully.

• Sharing updates with PMs and, if necessary, showing up to client meetings.

• Working towards implementation of sustainable and parametric designs and contributing technical expertise to proposals

Moreover, you will have:

• A Masters or PhD in structural/offshore engineering.

• 8+ years of specific experience with steel design for offshore wind and/or offshore oil & gas projects

• Experience with structural dynamics, numerical analysis (permanent and temporary phases), and load assessments for jacket/monopile structures.

• Comprehensive understanding of the DNV, Norsok, European, and American, design codes and standards

• Expertise with structural analysis programmes including SESAM, SACS, Robot, STAAD- Pro, IDEA StatiCa, Abaqus, and Ansys.

• Sufficient understanding of Tekla, Revit, Navisworks, and other BIM modelling and visualisation tools.

Some good to have skills:

• Understanding of floating offshore structure design such as TLPs and semi-submersibles

• Understanding of local FEM analysis for transition pieces, grouted connections, and joints, etc

• Writing scripts in Python
