The employee will be part of the R&D and Engineering organization in Danfoss India Innovation Center Pune and will report to Manager – Center for Sustainability & Reliability. Lead and conduct milestone functional safety considerations for New Product/Technology Development projects, while effectively coaching the teams in best practices and risk management.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.

• Independently execute on New Product Development (NPD) programs as safety engineer, delivering the safety assessment at every milestone of NPD cycle. Typical deliverables are program safety plan, hazard assessment, safety requirements, and implementation of requirements, verification & validation.
• Utilize functional safety concepts / tools such as preliminary hazard assessments, FMECA, Risk Management, Hazard and Risk Analysis, Safety requirements identification, Verification and validation of safety test cases and Compliancy scorecard.
• Deploy safety assessment framework in Danfoss Power Solutions group working with the global team.
• Plan milestones, executing milestones, conducting technical and project reviews.
• Creates, and sustains process for design standards and procedures governing product design methods, documents, and data control.
• Deploy the safety risk mitigation within the organization by leading the problem-solving methods to address functional safety issues identified during product/technology development and in the field.
• Maintain a watch on external safety standards & incidences.

Background & Skills

The ideal candidate possesses these skills.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering with 5+ years of relevant work experience
• Master’s degree in safety/ reliability engineering or certification from reputed safety organizations like TUV would be desirable.
• Hydraulics domain knowledge, understanding of safety standards like IEC 61508, ISO 26262, Machinery Directives.
• Work experience in the area of electro-hydraulics and power-electronics systems.
• Awareness of DFSS
• Fluent and comprehensive English.
