Job Title : Principal – Software Engineering – Oracle,Plsq Build a data platform to support FFIO’s data analytics and discovery needs. If you have a passion for working with data using multiple emerging technologies on the cloud, this might be the right opportunity for you! The Purpose of Your Role The Principal Software Engineer will be working as part of data engineering organization, building data platform capabilities accelerate the business capabilities for FFIO. This will involve working on data ingestion & preparation, data integration, creating data access APIs, data quality setup, design and modelling, performance optimization across shared data environments in the cloud. The role also expects to be the driver of engineering excellence and best practices for the group. The Value You Deliver This is purely a hands on role where you need to engage in developing solutions in latest technologies, lead the code reviews and coding standards for newer projects. You work closely with Architects and also help in mentoring the team in adapting latest technologies. Responsibilities of the role includes

• Hands on, able to act as a bridge between architecture principles and designs along with intent to collaborate to make things happen.
• Actively participate in planning, definition, design & integration of IT Product/Application releases working with other technical leads/ architects as required to assure consistency of product development.
• Actively participate in product release cycle, daily stand up as well as helping team with tactical activities like code review, design optimization etc.
• Lead and present a technical solution (e.g. POC) and the underlying business requirements that drove its development;
• Evaluate and recommend technology and frameworks for flexibility, long-term viability, and time to market
• Regularly provides guidance, training and mentoring to enable other team members to meet/exceed expectations
• Technical expertise in building our next generation data platform on AWS
• Building quality solutions that align with the technology blueprint and best practices to solve business problems by driving design, development and ongoing support.

The Skills that are Key to this role

• You have good programming skills (Oracle SQL and PL/SQL) and also have skills (Python, scripting etc.).
• Expertise in SQL performance tuning
• Experience in OLTP, Data Warehousing environments
• Good experience in BFSI Domain, preferably in Equity Markets and Research
• You enjoy working on different technologies to solve business problems
• You are able to readily adapt to changing requirements and priorities
• You enjoy learning new technologies, data analysis, identifying data patterns and trends
• You can independently figure out technical challenges, identify options and come up with innovative solutions
• You can do Analysis, Design, Estimation and Development of the database components
• You have Strong communication skills to manage various stakeholders in India as well as in US

The Skills that are Good to Have for this role

• You know Amazon Web Services-AWS. (Snowflake, Lambda, EMR, S3, Spark)
• You know Job Scheduling Technologies like Autosys or Crontab
• You know Data Modelling and Data Analytics
• You have worked in Agile methodologies or iterative development processes
• You have experience in Acceptance test-driven development, test automation
• You have ability to take ownership
• You have excellent collaboration and Interpersonal skills
• You have Great attitude, being a mentor, team player and effective contributor
• You are Self-Motivated and resourceful. Confident and able to work alone as effectively as in a team
