Overall Accountabilities

• Manage the engineering team to review the specifications, provide clear system description inputs to accurately create 3D engineering drawings, BOM, and prepare documentation like IDS, HUD, ITP, alarm settings etc. for Aux systems.

• Sign off and ownership of engineering deliverables to meet project requirements and specifications.

• Conduct design reviews for all new proposals and highlight RISK assessment for jobs that are custom engineered and route via product engineering team for review as needed.

• Checking and approve Custom design drawings and proposals for critical applications.

• Attend technical clarification meetings and provide justifications and sign off for critical components selection and finalizing data sheets that meet internal and customer approvals and agreement for procurement.

• Familiar with Industry standards related to seals and systems like API, ASME, PED, DOSH etc.

• Support Operations by providing tactical advice and guidance on specification deviation and waivers.

• Prepare and provide project plans in accordance with customer and contract requirements.

• Work closely with overseas engineering and product engineering resources to collaborate and develop SCOE engineering to adopt engineering best practices complying with global standards.

• Monitoring the engineering team‘s daily loading, capacity, performance and overall engineering team quality to ensure levelled loading for engineering activities.

• Submit Monthly engineering metrics and reports to Singapore hub and global engineering management.

• Coordinating with Operations team for on-time response to satisfy customer needs with, history, background and detailed inspection reports where performance resolution is needed.

• Coach team employees’ personal knowledge and develop capabilities and guide their career development.

Key Result Areas:

• Complete technical fulfilment of job requirements. Specification review and inputs to design team for accurate system engineering drawings and documents.

• Monthly Engineering performance metrics by Engineering team. Ensure customer satisfaction for engineering documentation and gather approval at first issue.

• Custom engineered systems design review and sign off.

• Provide resolutions to non-conformance reports and lessons learnt.

• Continuously identify and initiate improvement, standardization and localization projects.

Education/Experience Required:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or any other related technical discipline with a hydraulic major and minimum 8 to 10 years’ experience

• Working experience in Design, manufacturing and application for auxiliary systems used in rotating equipment.

• Knowledge in application, materials, standards, specifications review, engineering calculations and troubleshooting of mechanical seals and systems.

• Knowledge in AutoCAD and ANSYS / FEA, analysis tools.

• Ability to read, analyse and interpret engineering specifications and / or drawings.

• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, distinguish between relevant and/or irrelevant contributing factors and draw valid conclusions.

• Customer facing ability to communicate and present well to both internal and external customers.

• Excellent team player.

• Accountability and execution for completing work timely to Specifications.

• Familiar with various rotating equipment industry standards, such as API 610, API 682, API 692, ASME B73 and popular API and petrochemical standards.
