Essential Responsibilities:

• As a Director/Sr Manager of Software Engineering, you will be responsible to lead and manage multiple development teams to ensure successful software program execution including:
• Build/Lead/Manage a team of Sr developers/managers on both new development and issue fixing. Coach direct staff towards career goals, assign tasks, and monitor performance.
• Work with product owners and architects to develop software technology plans and roadmaps
• Ensure high quality code via design reviews, code reviews, and proper unit test coverage.
• Engage hands-on in technical design discussions and advise/unblock developers when they hit roadblocks.
• Guide technical strategy with consideration for the latest trends and technologies.
• Work closely together with the team leads from product management, QA, user experience, program management, and technical publications using Agile methodology.
• This includes participating in release planning and regular sprint planning, grooming, demos, retrospectives, UE reviews, and scrum.
• Work closely with other teams that support product dependencies – product integrations as well as different layers of the SOA stack.
• Report status on project deliverables to upper management and mitigate risks as they arise.
• Quickly define and deliver working software prototypes
• Support process improvements which guide the development, sustaining & support activities
• Communicate effectively both within immediate team and leadership.
• Ensure team receives consistent messages and has clear understanding of business direction, strategy and results

Relevant experience:
15+ years (5+ years as a Manager/Sr Manager or similar role)
Skills and Qualifications
BTech/BE/MTech degree in computer science or a related technical field.

• Excellent leadership skills working with and resolving people related issues, as well as technical challenges.
• Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Strong experience with Microsoft desktop application and client-server architecture
• Strong understanding of testing methodologies
• Experience with Java/.NET and AWS environment
• Solid background working with REST web services
• Strong project management experience with complex projects
• Excellent communication skills and close attention to detail
• Experience working in mortgage or other financial related industry is a plus
