The Role

Skill and experience level of Network Security L2 engineer is given below: –

1. Overall Responsibilities:

2. Work as a Network Security specialist.

3. Firewall management – Cisco FTD 9k/4k, FMC, FortiGate Firewall, Forti analyser, SonicWall

Firewall, Cisco ISE, Cisco WSA Proxy, SMA and VPNs, IPS, Akamai DDOS and WAF.

1. Primarily to monitor and ensure the Security devices uptime of the client is 100%

2. Prepare weekly reports, monthly availability, and performance reports of the client.

3. Provide root cause analysis of outages.

4. Upgrade firmware/Software of network security devices.

5. Work on End-of-Life hardware upgrades on head end and remote end devices and insure the

6. asset management is up to date.

7. Should have a sound knowledge on ITIL process – Ops Management, Change

8. Management, Incident/Problem Management

9. Troubleshooting and resolution of incidents, working on critical SLA’s by communicating with

OEM Support center, TAC etc for effective closure and RCA of all incidents.

1. User co-ordination, Vendor Co-ordination – Client and user interaction with ownership for

incident resolution, POA Submission

1. Should be able to integrate network & security devices with SIEM, able to read & understand

logs of all network & security devices to troubleshoot issues quickly.

1. Timely resolution of calls / incidents related to all Security issues within defined timelines.

2. Securing network security systems by establishing and enforcing policies, defining, and

monitoring access.

1. Regular patching of all provisioned network & security devices, protect the network from cyber-attacks.

2. Security Operations – configuration, IP assignment, monitoring, Firmware upgrades, Firewall

Policy fine tuning.

1. Fault handling and escalation (identifying and responding to faults on security devices.

2. Liaising with 3rd party suppliers, vendors handling escalation through to resolution).

3. Creation and Maintenance of blue-print document for NOC & SOC covering the processes and

procedures.

1. Qualifications:

2. Graduate in Computer Science/IT/Electronics Engineering, M.C.A. or equivalent University degree

3. Candidates should have at least 5 years-8 years of experience working in Security Device Management

4. Certifications desired: CCNP Security with any one specialization on Cisco FTD/Web Security

Appliance/Cisco Identity Services Engine/VPN.
