Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

1. Demonstrates the skills to select the sound package material for each subsystem like across dash, floor, roof for reducing the noise levels inside cabin.

2. Guide the team on measurement of transmission loss by different techniques, power based noise reduction, equivalent body hole size and ensure the quality of data

3. Guide the team on different techniques to measure the sealing effectiveness

4. Ability to quantify the effect of sound absorbing material by building transfer path model and also predict the changes required in the existing set up for future models.

5. Complete knowledge on manufacturing processes of parts at the supplier end and assembly process at manufacturing /assembly plant

6. Expertise in variation analysis and root cause analysis for variability and ensure the implementation of counter measures of variation

7. Demonstrate skills to identify, quantify vehicle level Wind noise issues and provide concept / engineering solutions for respective solutions.

8. To give early wind noise resolution measures on various system / component levels in design stage and come up with guidelines and quantify parameters causing wind noise.

9. Ability to understand vehicle level leakage issues and ways to provide solutions to arrest them which are critical for wind noise.

Should also be experienced in the following:
1. Digital Signal Processing, Instrumentation and Acoustics.

2. Frequency Response analysis and Modal analysis

3. Indepth knowledge of Material properties like Transmission Loss, sound absorption and relevant standards

4. Vehicle level and Body level leakage testing and solutions to arrest the same

5. Indepth knowledge of sound package materials and sealants (Properties) used in BIW, Paint shop and TCF line and knowhow of selection process for optimization of NVH performance.

6. In depth knowledge about sealing systems, glass systems. Should able to handle process related issues related with seals.

Experience

Post graduate in Mechanical engineering.

Should have min 8 years of experience in Testing and sound package development domain. Should have execution skills and able to work cohesively within CFT structure for effective NVH deliveries. Understand the behaviour of vehicle and should have good driving skills for high speed driving.

Hands on Experience in the following

LMS Test Lab Testing software’s like Operational deflection shape analysis, signal processing techniques, Acoustic properties like absorber coefficient of sound absorbing materials, transmission loss, acoustic impedance, noise leakage quantification, reverberation time, knowledge on different sound absorbing and barrier materials, basics on wave propagation, octaves, types of sound source like monopole, dipole and quadrapole.
