What does the job entail?

Internal expert on AWS RDS Aurora Postgres
Scope out database needs of different research teams
Create data structures to store data
Optimize database indices with query analyzer
Backup database and recover data

Database skills we are looking for:
Familiarity with AWS Aurora RDS Postgres
Able to setup, design, and maintain relational databases
Able to secure database through user role access rights
Able to backup database and recover data
Able to optimize database query performance

What kind of person are we looking for?

Monarch Tractor likes to invite a seasoned Postgres database expert to join our India team to build our internal AWS Aurora Postgres database for research and development. This database will store research data collected by our teams worldwide from different sources. You will be working closely with the data engineering and cloud engineering team to design, optimize and maintain the database.

More practical skills needed:
Required experience:
3 to 5 years of production experience in Postgres and Postgres Plugins
3 to 5 years of experience in Python
1 to 3 years of experience in ETL data pipelines

Good to have experience:
PostGIS geospatial plugin
QGIS

This is not a remote position.
