Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Leader of Enterprise Risk Management to lead and oversee our organization’s risk management function. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned risk professional with a deep understanding of risk identification, assessment, mitigation, and monitoring. This role will be instrumental in ensuring the organization’s long-term sustainability and resilience by proactively managing and mitigating potential risks.
Responsibilities:
Risk Governance:
* Develop and implement a robust enterprise risk management framework aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
* Establish effective risk governance processes, including risk committees, risk reporting, and escalation procedures.
* Oversee the development and maintenance of a risk appetite statement and tolerance levels.
Risk Identification and Assessment:
* Lead the identification and assessment of Fraud risk, operational, financial, strategic, and reputational risks across the organization.
* Utilize advanced risk assessment methodologies and tools to quantify and prioritize risks.
* Conduct regular risk assessments and reviews to identify emerging risks and trends.
Risk Mitigation and Control:
* Develop and implement effective risk mitigation strategies and control measures.
* Monitor the effectiveness of risk controls and ensure their ongoing adequacy.
* Work closely with business units to embed a risk-aware culture and promote risk ownership.
Risk Reporting and Communication:
* Prepare comprehensive risk reports for the executive management team and board of directors.
* Communicate risk information effectively to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
* Provide timely and accurate risk updates to senior management.
Regulatory Compliance:
* Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
* Stay abreast of regulatory changes and their potential impact on the organization.
* Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to address regulatory risks.
Qualifications:
* Graduate / Post Graduate.
* Proven track record in leading enterprise risk management functions within complex organizations.
* Deep understanding of risk management frameworks, methodologies, and tools.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to influence and collaborate with senior leaders across the organization.
* Strong leadership, communication and team management skills.
Additional Considerations:
* Certification in risk management (e.g., CFE) is desirable.
* Experience in a regulated industry, preferably a large bank is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of emerging risks, such as cyber security and climate change, is advantageous.
