PRIMARY FUNCTION

This role requires a person with excellent analytical/technical abilities, the desire, and love of learning, and interest in Targets Property Management functions. We are looking for someone who has a deep commitment to collaboration and an inclination to invent, interested in building cool stuff with great people. You should have some basic programming experience in an open source language (preferably R or Python), and a real interest to build and hone these skills. The candidate must be a self-starter and comfortable with ambiguity to work in our fast-paced ever-changing environment. The candidate must be able to support all business areas of PM with critical data analysis that helps team members make profitable decisions. Become a forecast expert, business analyst and utilize tools like decision trees, clustering, regression, time series.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Interfaces with the Target business representatives and leaders to validate business requirements/requests for reporting solutions.

• Clearly define business questions, asking probing questions and challenging where appropriate.

• Identify appropriate metrics and determine appropriate business requirements.

• Understands Target’s business and technical environments. Assists teams in resolving complex business challenges via technical solutions.

• Understands Target’s PM data across channels. Identify appropriate data, metrics and determine appropriate business requirements.

• Translates business requirements into technical requirements, drive requirements into solutions.

• Determines best methods in order to gather data and present information.

• Identify data sources.

• Create mock-ups of reports and solicit feedback. Consult on visual representation of data.

• Create and leverage best methods for reporting solutions.

• Determines appropriate technical platform and solution design.

• Drives Performance reports by highlighting wins and opportunity areas.

• Delivers effective business insights leveraging data generated in processes.

• Ensure build performs efficiently and meets business needs.

• Develop detailed Timing & Action, estimating the development time.

• Develops delivery strategy for new reports through portals, SharePoint, etc.

• Use data to create business domain-specific models, use the feedback loop to continuously improve the accuracy.

• Communication of progress, milestones, challenges against the plan, and escalation of issues.

• Works across business lines to remove barriers and generate strong support for strategies, ideas, and plans.

• Documents design and requirement for reporting solutions.

• Develops best method and practices on governance for reports.

• Be a great team player, mentor team members and help build a team of high caliber analyst and thinkers.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree with knowledge of computer code logic.

• Robust critical thinking skillset with knowledge of root cause identification techniques

• Excellent communication skills (verbal/written) – Ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams

• Foundational understanding of statistical concepts and modeling

• Familiarity with an open-source programming language (R or Python)

• Familiarity with SQL, Expert in Microsoft Excel

• Strong sense of ownership

• Passion for emerging technologies, a culture of continuous learning and innovation

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences

DESIRED REQUIREMENTS:

• 4 + years of experience in Data analytics, writing basic scripts in R or Python

• Experience in designing and developing data products using and automation of data flows.

• Experience in connecting to and extracting data from API.

• Developed dashboards on data visualization tools like Domo, Tableau Etc.
