2. Skill and Competancy requirements

Minimum15+ years working experience in Automotive Soft Trims Design Domain, firsthand Experience in design and development of Interior trim aggregates like Carpet & Insulations, Headliner, Parcel shelf, Door trim, Pillar trims, etc. Knowledge of complete Automotive Trims/plastics Part Design and Development Cycle

Sound knowledge of Acoustic pack material, raw material testing, Part level testing, Vehicles level testing, Tooling Requirement of acoustic pack Parts, manufacturing processes- Thermoforming, Thermocompression moulding, Injection moulding, Compression moulding, Vacuum forming.

Sound knowledge Automotive Regulations for Interiors, processes like DVP, DFMEA, DFM, DFA, DFS, APQP Etc.

Sound knowledge of Tolerance stacks up, GD&T

Sound knowledge of Testing and validation will be added advantage.

CAD Software:

Knowledge of CAD s/w will be added advantages. CATIA V5/ V6 TCUA

Knowledge of PLM systems – like Team centre, DMU and Release processes.

Job Description:

1. Interiors SME with end-to-end development of Soft Trims and associated module parts

2. Should have good Knowledge in Soft plastic part design, manufacturing and basic of Soft / plastic Tooling Knowledge and should know Basic of NVH materials.

3. Conduct feasibility studies for styling surfaces for packaging, assembly & manufacturing.

4. Check regulatory requirements for Interiors.

5. Talk to all department, collect and organize feedback sessions with styling.

6. Create time plans for Interiors Soft Trims Module systems and make sure all milestones are being met.

7. Prepare RFQ’s for Tier 1 suppliers for Interiors Soft TRIMS.

8. Review Design Concept sheets, Planning drawings, Master sections, CAD & Component drawings.

9. Conduct DFMEA and DVP reviews and prepare documents for sign off.

10. Conduct detailed Design reviews and prepares data for technical sign off

11. Conduct mock-up/ proto trails when necessary.

12. Work on Fit& Finish plans and make sure design meets intent.

13. Review PAT targets and make sure design will cater to targets.

14. Design and DMU reviews for every mile stones.

15. Understand and Incorporate feedback from all Stake holders.

16. Review CAE results and identify areas of improvement.

17. Interact with styling and other department and deliver feedback.

18. Attend war-room meetings and report to Chief Engineer on status of milestones for drive Tooling Kick-offs

19. Witness builds events, validation events, vehicle trials, jury evaluations and provide feedback.

20. Work on Quality improvement and cost reduction related activities on current and future products.
