Position Title – Manager External Affairs – North & North East

Location – Kolkata

Experience – 15+ years of work experience with significant part of the experience preferably in the work area of public policy, advocacy, and Government affairs

The incumbent will be the custodian of maintaining coordination with internal and external stakeholders for the Government Relations task (part of Public Policy division of Corporate Affairs function of UBL) for the East and North-East Market of UBL (a Heineken Group Company).

Your Roles & Responsibilities

· Lead and drive the Government relations related tasks for the East & North-East region for UBL. The candidate should be conversant with the functioning of West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Assam, Arunachal markets.

· Developing and maintaining relationships with government officials, policymakers, and other stakeholders to keep them informed about the organization’s priorities and concerns.

· Establish credible relationships for a trusted partnership with a wide range of stakeholders, including government officials, elected representatives, industry trade associations and industry-government relations representatives.

· Creating and executing strategies to drive fair policy outcomes and achieve the organization’s objectives on optimal business climate.

· Proactively communicate with internal stakeholders, such as executives and other departments, to ensure they are informed about government processes and procedures, and how it affects the organization’s operations.

· Strategically evaluate the impact of implementing key Government guidelines and processes on UBL’s business, with the ability to advocate on United Breweries Limited’s behalf.

· Maintain and build industry forum contacts and ensure smooth coordination.

· Develop in-depth knowledge of the external stakeholders, government structures, hierarchies along with their levers of influence.

· Support company functions team with research on emerging issues, impact assessments, planning activities, internal and external communication tools, as well as the organization of outreach and events.

· Develop content to effectively articulate United Breweries Limited position on critical policy and regulatory issues.

· Representing the organization in meetings, hearings, and other public forums to advocate for the organization’s interests and build relationships with stakeholders.

Overall, the role of a Manager of Government Relations is to ensure that the organization’s interests are represented effectively and that it maintains positive relationships with key government stakeholders.
