Summary:
The work schedule for this position is:

Duties
Performs complex, sensitive and highly varied work pertaining to Non-Immigrant Visa (NIV) processing, including preloading and screening applications, confirming data accuracy, printing and pasting visa foils. Prepares cases for adjudication by a Consular Officer to ensure compliance with U.S. Immigration and Nationality law. Conversant in all areas of Consular operations, including the American Citizen Services, Consular Information, and Fraud Prevention units. Plays a direct support role in protecting U.S. border security while facilitating legitimate travel to the United States.
Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: Three years’ experience related to customer service or work involving the application of complex regulatory material.
JOB KNOWLEDGE: Thorough knowledge of applicable U.S. visa and immigration law, Foreign Affairs Manual, and applicable regulations. General knowledge of host country law pertaining to marriage, birth registration, adoption, and immigration, as well as national and provincial education systems and documents.
Education Requirements:
Successful completion of collegiate degree.

LANGUAGE:
Level IV (Fluent) in spoken and written English.
Level III (good working knowledge) in spoken Bengali and/or Hindi.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES : Excellent draft and proof reading skills. General computer literacy, with emphasis on skillful word processing required. Ability to perform various clerical tasks with speed and accuracy is required. Ability to work in a high stress, high volume production environment.

Agency Benefits:
Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Kolkata, India may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.
For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.
The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
