Who You Are:

This position will be Remote, but you will be working closely with the United States and Canada teams through video chat, instant messaging, e-mail, phone, and our software. It is essential that you have excellent communication skills in English, both written and oral. We are a fast-paced company expanding rapidly, and we are seeking team members who will share our vision for the future and work collaboratively to accomplish Base8 goals. We pride ourselves on providing superior service to our clients, which includes attention to detail, following the processes in place, and being able to adapt to various situations.

Responsibilities:

• Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.
• Coordinating accounting functions and programs.
• Preparing financial analyses and reports.
• Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
• Preparing revenue projections and forecasting expenditures.
• Assisting with preparing and monitoring budgets.
• Maintaining and reconciling balance sheets and general ledger accounts.
• Assisting with annual audit preparations.
• Investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
• Create a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) manual for accounting policy and regulations, and roll out reconciliation procedures
• Contributing to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
• Monitor and maintain a new audit system by implementing new policies and procedures in the finance department
• Performing other accounting duties and supporting junior staff as required or assigned.

Requirements:

• Degree in Accounting
• Work experience in an accounting position would be an asset
• Knowledge of Accounting Standards would be an asset.
• Understanding and ability to analyze accounting/tax documents.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to support all other departments within the company and coordinate training and information sessions
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team and to work under pressure.
• Good analytical skills.
• Willingness to develop.
• Good MS Office (especially Excel) and computer skills.
