Job Title: Principal Software Engineer The Software Engineering team delivers next-generation software application enhancements and new products for a changing world. What you’ll achieve As a Software Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for design, develop, validate and deploy SQL databases for high quality customer experience applications / portals that not only meet Dell & industry standards & guidelines but also meet or exceeds customer expectations. You will work closely with Product Managers, Senior Engineers, Customers/Partners and Leaders on SQL Server, Azure Cloud & .NET based Customer Experience Portals/Apps. You will be playing a defining role in Dell Federal customer experience journey. A SQL Server DBA (or database administrator) manages the SQL server to successfully store, organize, and access data. SQL Server DBAs usually oversee a team of SQL developers and need to be skilled with computer programming, software engineering, and data architecture and management. SQL Server DBAs analyze an organization’s data management, input, and security needs, and help develop tools that support data access and information security. Also play an important role in optimizing SQL queries and oversee backups and audits to ensure that SQL databases remain accessible, secure, and stable. You will:

• Develop & Maintain Application Database Code based on business requirements / user stories
• Manage the development and performance of SQL databases for web applications for scale
• Configure servers and processes and automate tasks to improve reliability and cut down on development time
• Provide guidance / take on hands-on approach on complex queries and the optimization of processes and statements
• Troubleshoot and resolving issues without excessive downtime or data loss
• Maintain database through industry standard practices for regular patching, server migration or backup
• Propose and develop improved methodologies and institute best practices around database security and access.
• Contribute toward Database deployment automation and CICD pipeline.
• Review features & user stories and provide Technical expertise for the program teams
• Review Test scenarios, test specifications and performance requirements
• Lead the effort to create DB level data flow diagrams & Interface Design Docs
• Work with Product Owner and prioritize the Change Requests & Roadmap Sizing
• Collaborate with architects / Leads across space and contribute to sprint goals
• Successfully communicate conceptual ideas and design rationale
• Drive Innovation & Technical excellence across Product Line
• Keeps team and leadership updated on project status and risk factors
• Responsible for scrum and agile & delivery excellence
• Work with internal IT teams to coordinate project interlocks and deployments
• Work with the Engineering manager, product owners, architects, developers and SDETs to endure that the product is being delivered with quality on time and within budget

• 8-10 years of experience in application development & maintenance
• hands-on experience in SQL Server, MVC architecture, .Net Framework, C#, OOPS, XML, XSLT, Oracle, Angular
• Experience with using a broad range of Azure services, mainly from the list below: Web Apps, Web jobs, Storage, Azure Key Vault, App Hand-on experience with Visual Studio, Visio, TFS, Code analyzer is added advantage
• Excellent analytical & problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate code / design rationale and build consensus
• Ability to prioritize and manage work to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to develop new approaches to complex code/design problems
• Must be organized, have an eye for detail, and be able to put ideas into a tangible form
• Candidature with Azure Cloud Development experience will be preferred
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment; work with minimal supervision while delivering on action items in a timely fashion

Desirable Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree in computer science Or Equivalent Stream
• Familiarity with Agile/SCRUM and software development lifecycle principles
• SCRUM Master certification a plus
• A Microsoft Certification is a value add.
