Proposal Coordinator
The proposal coordinator is a key member of the proposals department and will be responsible for supporting the Manager of Proposals in ensuring that KBR continues to deliver the highest quality proposal documentation. The proposal coordinator forms part of the management team for all of our pursuits and works closely with sales (business development) and operations in ensuring we offer creative, client focused, and commercially astute proposals.
Responsibility
The proposal coordinator leads small/medium sized proposals and pre-qualifications and supports project directors and business development directors on major pursuits.
The proposal coordinator is responsible for:
Proposal planning and co-ordination of proposal team activities. Assisting with the definition of proposal deliverables and facilitating their completion.
Ensuring adherence to proposals procedures and providing guidance to others involved in proposal preparation processes (from kick-off to red team reviews)
Ensuring proposals are responsive to ‘invitation to tender’ documents
Developing proposal budgets with business development managers and proposal leaders
Developing, coordinating and producing win themes and strategies – differentiating us from our competitors
Writing individual sections of proposals or, for smaller proposals, the whole proposal
Conducting reviews of bids prior to submission
Supporting business development / operations in developing the commercial aspects of the bid
Coordinating with other KBR offices for inputs and bid development
Standing in for the Manager of proposals in his absence
Supporting the maintenance of data/information needed for the preparation of proposals
Preparation of expressions of interest, pre-qualifications, client presentations and support on other sales and marketing activities
Experience
Skills will have been typically acquired through completion of an undergraduate degree in engineering, science or similar discipline and 10 or more years of combined experience (sales, engineering, construction or operations) in the engineering and construction industry.
Good understanding of proposal principles and international EPC business.
Experience in managing and writing persuasive proposals.
Experience in the hydrocarbons market would be advantageous.

Editing skills – must be able to review and edit work of others
Deadlines – works well under pressure of tight deadlines
Flexibility –Some evening or weekend work will be required on tight bid deadlines.
